Petz Gameplay Day 5

Day Five:

-Okay, here's something a little bigger to try today. Why not make your own Playscene? You don't need to use your own art if you don't want to, but bonus points if you try! Make sure it's just the right size so no grey areas show up. About 1024(wide) by 768(height) should be fine!
-Did you finish your scene? Why not get together a few Petz, some snacks, some toys, and throw a little party in that scene?
-Okay wait, before the party is over, let's do one more thing...grab the paint can, pick a color you like, pull out the brush and leave them out, and see what happens! Watch your pet and their guests paint themselves (or not, if they choose) as the madness unfolds! If they're uninterested in playing with paint, you can always put some auto-rolling balls around to urge them to run around more!
-Surely you got lots of crazy, painted party-goers now, right? Show us their finished results, and judge them yourself! Who do you think looks the best, and why? Who did the worst paint job of them all? After all, what'a a party without a little competition?

Been awhile since I made a playscene! Since I haven't done anything artistic in like a million years I just decided to use a photo. And not just any photo... yes, ladies and germs, this is our backyard. Actually taken a few days before we moved in, so it doesn't look exactly like this anymore, lol. (The grass currently needs to be mowed, for one thing...)

Here it is! It's rollable but not growable (the two gardens in our backyard can be seen in this pic, but just barely, so it wasn't really enough room to justify making a tiny growable area). Holes can be dug in the ground, too. I put a ledge on the bird house and the fence in the right-hand side, and occasionally the sounds of birds and wind can be heard. (Well, they would be heard, if I ever played Petz with the sound on lol)

Now, confession time--I actually made this last night. I had intended to do the entire day last night, in fact, but my stepson wanted to play Monopoly on the Wii with me and my husband, and he's not here very often so I felt I kind of couldn't just ignore him. (Besides, I ended up winning lol) So this was actually two days of gameplay... from here on out, everything else was done today. That did mean that enough game days have passed that Lizard is now an adult!

I made sure to feed her in private before the partaaaayyy :D

-Did you finish your scene? Why not get together a few Petz, some snacks, some toys, and throw a little party in that scene?

Although it's not Halloween, I thought these snacks looked nice enough to put out for the party. I had to wait and set the individual ones out until after everyone had arrived, though, because Lizard kept trying to eat them all for herself. ^^; I also put out a few balls, the jingle ball, and the ball of yarn.

Here are all of our party guests, although they have knocked the toys and treats mostly out of the frame. I brought back Fiori, Star, and Sarsaparilla from day two. I also brought out my two tamsins from my naturally-raised crew (although both are now fully grown anyway), Gray (the dusty one, despite her name) and Chicago (the blue one with pink eyes). They're in love but haven't bred yet. COME ON YOU TWO

The party erupted into chaos pretty quickly. All six petz just ran around like bozos and just decided they all hated each other. Here's Star glaring at someone (sweet Fiori is just confused).

Looks like Star was glaring at Chicago. Meanwhile, Gray has decided that she hates Sarsaparilla. Fiori just wants to leave.

Lizard, on the other hand, doesn't seem to hate anyone but me for not letting her take all the treats for herself.

At least Star and Sarsaparilla seem to get along alright. Kind of surprising, actually, given Star's history. (Despite having a calico personality, I'm afraid he inherited more than a bit of his grandmother Princess's tabby grumpiness.)

Well, red (the realistic red) is my favorite fur color for Petz, so that's the color I chose. Everyone's mad enough at everyone else, red seemed like an appropriate color! Star was the first to try out a makeover. I almost didn't recognize him.

Gray also decided to try out a new color, but her color still doesn't match her name... in fact, now she's even further off.

Everyone was still just running around and hating on each other, so I decided to wrap this party up before it got any worse. I put everyone away except Lizard and Fiori, partly because Fiori seems to be the nicest one of this bunch, and also because, since Lizard is an adult, I wanted to see if any romantic feelings would bloom.

Aaaand they both decided to cough up hairballs instead. :/ Also, I didn't notice it until putting this entry together, but it appears Fiori hit the paint brush too. It barely changed his appearance, though. But after noticing this, it's as good a time as any to answer the final question of the day.

-Surely you got lots of crazy, painted party-goers now, right? Show us their finished results, and judge them yourself! Who do you think looks the best, and why? Who did the worst paint job of them all? After all, what'a a party without a little competition?

I think Star looked the best, actually. His calico patches went pretty well with the red coat and his (faint against the red) tabby stripes. I would say Fiori, but his looks barely changed. I mean, it was so little of a change that I took these last few pictures without even realizing they'd changed lol

As for my other hope, that these two might be growing closer, I appear to be a bit let down. Lizard's definitely acting more and more like an alley cat now; she spent that entire disaster of a party ignoring everyone and now, even with just one other cat, she's ignoring him, too. She just gets upset when he runs into her, but hey, who wouldn't be?

But then again, she got sad when I put him away, so... perhaps she's playing hard to get. ;)

Halfway there! Day six will hopefully be up soon. :)
